08.14.13 (The Day I Felt Crappy Cuz It's Been Forever Since I Posted Anything)

It's only been two weeks, so get off my back.

I got a scooter :)

Had my interview yesterday for the Peru internship... It went alright, he didn't love the fact that I got a C- in Accounting, but there's still a good chance I'll get the internship. I've definitely got to get better grades in my other accounting and finance class though if they're gonna let me go. Hopefully I'll find out soon!

Things with Annie and I are going swimmingly.
Loving my phone.
Took Bumper to Second Dam the other day.... Maybe I'll post a video if I get the chance on a functional computer.

I love this puppy.

I love this puppy :p

My Puppy

BUMPER!!

World, this is Bumper. He's my best puppy friend ever. His real name is Bumper Pembleton III Crompton. His specialties include cuteness, cuddliness, and a natural perfection of squeeky toy squeeking.

We got him back in March, and he was pretty much a gift from Annie, who did all the work to get him, and who even bargained the lady down to get him for a cheaper price. The moment we walked into the breeders house and saw how cute and tiny he was we fell right in love and new we wouldn't leave there without him! The very same day we got him we went to Annie's church basketball game, where Annie sprained her ankle SUPER bad. So Bumper's first night was spent in a hospital where I got to have some serious bonding time with him.

Once upon a time he was small enough to fit in my pocket. I took this picture to show Annie that I was going to take him to school with me. Unfortunately he grew, and no longer fits in my pocket :( My mom wants to breed him with Cali, so they can have cute little babies, and my plan is to keep one of them! :D Oh man it would just be the cutest little grandbaby ever. Also, as you can see, he just loves getting bathed. He's actually really good in the water now, when we take him to Bear Lake or First Dam he likes to swim around like a champ.

So I'm sure you're dying to know why he's Bumper Pembleton III Crompton. Let me explain. Annie and I had an obsession with Pitch Perfect (sad I know) at the time and wanted to name him after someone from it. We were gonna go with Benji, but we immediately realized that that was just too darn sad of a name. I'm sure Annie wanted to name him Jesse, but I just couldn't have my dog named after someone that my girlfriend wanted to marry. So we picked Bumper. It's funny cuz I kinda actually think he has Bumper's attitude (we're working with him on that though ;)  So where the heck did Pembleton come from? No idea. It just came out cuz I wanted to have a sophisticated name for him. So "III"? This part's good. Before Bumper me and Annie knew we wanted to get a puppy, and my dad mentioned that his coworker was trying to find a new home for his little Shih-Tzu. We went and they pretty much told us we could have her, then a few days later called and said nevermind. Those jerks broke our hearts. So when we went to a Real game one
Saturday Annie took me to Build-A-Bear and she bought me Puppy II (seen half-way in the picture to the right). Then, a couple weeks later she found Bumper and so of course he is the third! Crompton, well that's just obvious. He's my dog!!!

Being a puppy owner isn't always easy though, that's for sure! A while back we had a little mishap where we left some Tylenol in the Jeep, and left him out there (with the windows rolled down of course!) and when we got back out there one of the Tylenol was gone :S  We called the vet and asked what we should do, and they had us induce vomiting in him with Hydrogen Peroxide, which was just so much fun. Anyway, needless to say, we felt super guilty and like awful parents but little Bumper survived it and we certainly learned something!

07.15.13 (The Day After the Day After We Went To The Demolition Derby)

So... I forgot to write yesterday, oops. That's probably gonna happen quite a bit.

On Saturday night we weren't really sure what we were gonna do, but then Nate mentioned that there was a demolition derby, and Annie hadn't been to one! So we went :) That was for sure a good time! Watching weird guys dance around like a fool, a car got flipped onto its side, and there was some sweet engine fire action! Unfortunately I'm an idiot and didn't start filming until after that.

I got feeling pretty sick yesterday, just sore throat and a little fever, stomach ache. Annie's a doll though and she nursed me back to health :) I was feeling a little better this morning so I was able to drag myself out of bed at 6:40 to go to Open Field. Apparently Annie had told the girls she went to Dixie with that she'd bring me so they could meet me.

Then we came home and napped. We deserved it :)

My Girl

Annie. That's the name that runs through my head non-stop all day. That's the name of the most gorgeous girl in the world. That's the name of the girl that I love.

Cheesy right? Yeah but that's alright cuz I'm a total cheezer and she's seriously that amazing. I mean, wow, isn't she beautiful? Just look at that picture. I just feel bad for you because you can't get to know her the way that I do, cuz she's just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside :)

I met her about 8 months ago at Cricket. She had come in and bought a phone from Jake, and was coming back to get a screen protector put on it. Of course I was more than willing to help (look at that face!). I think you'll believe me when I tell you that I took all the time I needed to make sure I could get her screen protector just right ;) I may have even taken it off 2 or 3 times and put it back on just to make sure it was perfect. I asked her questions about herself, but didn't make any moves (I was just starting to get serious in a different relationship, and little did I know she'd been dating someone for two years). Plus she told me she'd gone to Sky View so I needed to make sure I was gonna be alright with that :p

She came back in a couple times over the next few months, and once I'd ended things in my other (horrible) relationship it suddenly became a real option to try and get to know her. On January 25th she came in with her mom to help her get her phone fixed. When she left that day I told my co-workers "I will get that girl's number!". They laughed. But I knew she was coming in the next day again to pick up a new phone they'd ordered in. It was my day off, but I got ready and made up some lame excuse to go in anyway. I figured "Hey, if I go in and they happen to be there at that time then maybe it means something. If not, then I guess another day." I walked in and there she was, with her mom.

Yeah, she knew why I was there. Like I didn't have anything better to be doing on my day off... plus I looked at her and smiled a lot ;)  I'll tell ya what though, I was scared to get her number with her mom right there. So I didn't :( I asked her her full name, and like some socially awkward/creepy teenager I looked her up and added her on Facebook. Get off my back, it worked alright!? Those first few days we literally talked nonstop, and we haven't stopped talking since.

I was a little taken aback when I first looked at her FB page and saw that she was in a relationship, but I felt a little better when I did my research and saw that he was on his mission. It hasn't been easy, like I said she dated him for 2 years, and was writing and planning on dating him when he got back. It was rough for both of us; her having to decide between two boyfriends, me sharing her. But it's actually been a great experience, and one I know we've both learned a lot from. It's taught us both a ton of patience, and as we've both made sacrifices to accommodate our relationship and to make each other happy it's made us appreciate each other that much more.

So who is she?

Born as Marissa Hughes, her parents later changed her name. I know her as Annie Michelle Hughes (but still call her Marissa to bother her).

If I wanted to write everything about her it would never be finished, cuz I'm learning more about her at a faster rate than I can type I'm pretty sure (and I type 82 WPM with 0 errors, thank you very much). Her birthday is March 1, she plays soccer like a champ, and she'll tell you she hates being tickled but we all really know she loves it. She's strong when it's called for, and sensitive in the best ways. Her smile is the most beautiful of any I've ever seen, she handles a horribly sprained ankle like a pro, and I can tell you I've never met anyone more stubborn. She tans really easily. She has an adorable laugh. And I love her :)

Even though it's barely been over 5 months that we've been dating, we've had a ton of experiences, seeing as how we've seen each other every waking minute possible. After knowing her for less than a month we were already going on a weekend vacation to St. George with J.r. We hit up Subway at 1:30 in the morning then started the drive right after. I drove until about five, and she fought to stay awake the entire time so I wouldn't have to be alone :) That was the weekend she let me be her boyfriend as a trial run so we could see how it worked out. Apparently it went well, cuz I got the position a little while later. On that same trip we went to a Mongolian restaurant and the 40 something year old Asian hostess was hitting on me: "You be my boyfriend?" "You take me somewhere nice to eat?". I told Annie I was gonna accept her offer cuz Annie'd only agreed to be my girlfriend for the weekend. She didn't appreciate that too much.

We've been to Bear Lake, Real games, a USMNT game (which tickets she got me for my birthday, best girlfriend ever!!!), and we plan on going to Disneyland later on this year. She loves to travel as much as I do, so that's something that we hope to do for a long time.

So that's how it goes, there's not a whole lot I wouldn't do for this girl, for her happiness. She's among the most important things in my life, and if things go right that's not about to change. Ever.

07.12.13 (The Day She Came Home!)

She's home!!! And it's the best thing ever cuz I'm a baby and I love her. Haha I took my lunch right when she got here and got to meet Doyle and drive him home. Then we went back to my place to play with Bumper and mack for a while :) Gosh for reals though I heart that girl.

Plus my leg's feeling better so I'm really hoping she talks to Tyson and get's some soccer on tonight. I'm so in the mood to play. I'd be willing to sacrifice my leg for a good night of soccer any day!

Last night I played a little Call of Duty cuz that's what I do when Annie's not here. Tried cleaning out my car too, but it didn't work out too well cuz it's mostly Annie's crap. I just chucked it all in the back of the Jeep.

She's home!!!!!

She just took this Gem of a picture for me :)

07.09.13 (The Day I Started My Blog)

K so this is my first blog "journal" entry. In the past I've kept a handwritten journal, but it's been about a year since I've made an entry. I've something like 9 or 10 journals in my room, and I figure I should make it digital before I need to make my room a library.

I've separated my blog into three different parts (see the tabs above): Daily Journal, Thoughts, and Spotlight. My "daily journal" is where I'll try and write every day. Usually mundane and routine, it may not be entertaining for anyone reading it, but I believe it's important to keep a record for myself of things that have happened in my life. I've referred back to my journals countless times as I've needed to remember a date or when something happened, or just to remember how much of an idiot I was and to laugh at myself. Also, I'm gonna try posting a picture every day with my entry, just something random from the day (and probably usually from the moment I'm writing the entry cuz I'm lazy and I forget).

"Thoughts" is where I'll write when I have random tidbits of things I want to write. They won't usually have something to do with the happenings of the day, but rather just things that I believe in or thoughts that I have. "Featured" will be special topics I concentrate on. Parts of my life I want to highlight and describe in words, pictures, and videos. The posts will be more thematic, and can include anything from special people, to trips, to projects I'm working on.

So let's begin!

Annie (see "My Girl" on my Spotlight page) left yesterday morning for St. George to help coach a team of girls from Sky View at a soccer camp there. She was supposed to be staying with a friend there, but when she got there she found out that her friend's boyfriend is living with her now, which made her uncomfortable. The boyfriend apparently isn't the best guy... so Annie arranged to be able to stay in the hotel with one of the coaches.

We knew this was gonna be kind of a rough week, she got a letter back from Paul on Thursday in response to the one she had sent. Last week she had sent him the letter telling him that she was dating someone seriously, and she's been nervous ever since about how he'd react. He actually took it extremely well... almost too well though. He has an attitude of not really caring, and just told her that he should probably concentrate on his missionary work anyway. I know she's pretty bothered that he's taken it so well, and it's totally understandable for her to feel that way. I won't lie though, this has been a huge deal for me, and it's really shown me that she's taking us seriously :)

I found out it's gonna cost me $40 to get Bumper's hair cut, which is annoying. Haha the poor guy's hair is so long though he can barely see through his eyebrows. Plus, the long black hair can't feel the best when he's out panting in the 96 degree weather. He's getting it clipped tomorrow.

I had an appointment today to figure out the rest of my schooling and figure out for sure when I can graduate. I've got to decide what I'm gonna do next summer for my "international experience" requirement for my major. They're all pretty costly options, I just gotta decide one.

Went on a little Jeep ride with my parents, watched "Under The Dome" with my Dad and ate dinner with them (Dad burned the steak, he was pretty upset about that). Now I'm just finishing up watching the USMNT game against Belize. It ended 6-1, I'll let you guess who won.

I have to get up at 7:30 tomorrow for another meeting to figure out the international experience stuff. Gross.
